Firsts are overrated. We (read, I) get so worried about making the beginning of whatever I'm doing perfect, that I often forgo the step of actually starting. I'm so petrified by the thought of a marathon that I don't take the first step on a five minute run. I'm so afraid of becoming a stronger writer that I won't write the first blog post. But, as I've come to realize, this fear is unfounded. Marathons are simply 48 five minute runs stacked on top of each other, and becoming a stronger writer is simply about putting one word in front of the other, so that's what I'm going to do.
“I've had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened.”
― Mark Twain
